Bounce rate and Stickiness Factor

What's your bounce rate?

Eh? Wot's a 'bounce rate'? Good question. Bounce rate, which is also known as stickiness factor, is a measure of how interesting site visitors find the information on your web site, be it a blog or whatever.

High bounce rates - like over 60% - are not good. Ideally, and you can see this in Google Analytics, your bounce rate should be less than 40%. This is not easy to achieve, but is a great indication of whether internet searchers are finding answers to searches on your site, or are liking what you waffle on about.

Ignore bounce rate at your peril. It's the webmaster's friend. And of course, if people are sticking around on your site, then it will become more appetizing to advertisers.

If advertising is your main, possibly only, source of income, it is in your interests to lower bouce rates to a minimum.

Ideally, once someone has landed on your site you should keep them there forever!

Or at least keep them coming back for more! Make your site addictive.
